Design of Air Table Equipment for the Separation of Metal Minerals by Gravity Concentration with Wind Media

This research is an air table device design and laboratory scale experimentation. Air a tool to separate valuable minerals from mineral impurities of tin ore based on differences in specific gravity, shape size using air/wind media. The the starts manufacture as well other main components, including; feed hopper, ventilation tertoron cloth. Then next stage calculation selection driving motor form electric with pulley system last blower machine that functions blow pressure into table. installation was carried out at Materials Processing Laboratory, Faculty Engineering, Sriwijaya University. To determine success rate designing evaluating performance table, experiments were several combinations variables, including slope, weight (grams), processing time (minutes).). experimental process tested samples remaining washing (SHP) Toboali Washing Plant, PT Timah, Tbk. results show shows good but not optimal where lowest concentrate gain achieved 50.20% highest 79.14% deck slope 5.8°, 600 grams 15 minutes. evaluation relatively well, needs be improved adjusted for more varied variables representative quantities ore, so produce maximum grade.
